Professional background: Managing Director at TypeHuman

Nick Byrne is an adventurer and technologist. His goal is to inspire people to pursue ambitious goals for themselves and society.

After studying engineering at the University of Adelaide he spent the following ~10 years working with corporate Australia, startups, and the not-for-profit sector with a focus helping people to discover, mobilise and execute on new technology ventures.

Nick is now a director at TypeHuman where he works with leaders who are navigating technological change and its implications for people, society, and the next economy.

Prior to TypeHuman Nick helped launch Australia’s first digital identity platform, Digital iD by Australia Post. And today, in addition to TypeHuman he is working with the Australian government’s National Blockchain Roadmap work group, a civil society consortia (including major iNGOs) focused on bring self-sovereign identity to life, and advisor to Swinburne Universities Social Innovation Research Institute, and in 2018 Nick became a leadership fellow with the Intersticia Foundation.
