According to IBM, there are 2.5 quintillion bytes of data created each day. With that, 90% of all data that currently exists has only been created in the last two years!
As such, the need for data security has surged at an exponential rate. Both businesses and governments are pouring resources into cybersecurity — the techniques of how we can keep our data safer and away from the wrong hands.
What is cybersecurity, what opportunities exist in this field?

Saaim Khan

I'm a Sydney-based cybersecurity coach, focusing on information security advisory, agile security management and cybersecurity awareness & engagement.
My experience spans business consulting, software development, marketing, graphic design, project management and information security. I have degrees in computing and project management and as well as multiple security certifications, including CISM, Certified Technical Trainer and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer to name a few.

Tulin Sevgin

Tulin is a strategic thinker and cyber risk management specialist with experience in public and private sectors. Tulin has held senior positions with Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Optiver and Deloitte.
Whilst Tulin’s working experience spans enterprise risk management, business continuity, risk culture analysis, project management, issues management, IT audit, data analytics, internal audit and external audit, Tulin specializes in cyber risk management including cyber risk threat analysis, prevention, control and assurance.

Helen Zheng
Cyber Security Consultant at EY
Helen is a cyber security consultant at EY, servicing the financial services industry. She joined EY in June 2017, where she has advised clients on threat assessments, third party risk management, data loss exposure assessments, incident simulations and vulnerability management. She has previously interned at Commonwealth Bank within the Digital Protection Group on security governance, risk and compliance, and at Information Integrity Solutions, headed up by Australia’s former Privacy Commissioner, Malcolm Crompton, where she produced privacy impact assessments. Helen graduated from UNSW in 2016, attaining her Bachelor of Information Systems and is currently tutoring the Networking and Cyber Security course at UNSW from February until April.
