Event Description

Join us for Industry Night, an evening of inspirational talks, networking and students’ portfolio presentation!

Exclusive portfolio presentations
Industry Night is our quarterly high point, where our talented UX and Service Design graduates showcase their portfolios to the design community and hiring organisations.

After going through a robust 10-week program combining theoretical and hands-on practice, our graduates are ready for their next challenge. Students’ portfolios are the result of their collaboration with real-life clients, tangible business challenges and fixed deadlines.

Industry Night is instrumental in providing our graduates with interactions, exposure and feedback from experienced designers and industry figures as they showcase their thought process, problem-solving abilities and skills throughout their portfolio.

Drinks, nibbles, and more
Whether you are part of an organisation, a recruiter, a future student, or just someone interested in UX and Service Design, Industry Night has something for you:

  • If you’re on the lookout for your next talent to hire, be the first to explore the fantastic work from our recent graduates. Industry Night will connect you with the perfect niche talent in UX and Service Design, as we train the workforce of tomorrow.
  • If great ideas and new concepts give you a boost, come and listen to leading design thinkers Grace Turtle Polifroni (Deloitte Digital) and Andrew Green (Canva) as they share their experience and insights.
  • If you want to be actively involved in the creative and design community and enjoy stimulating conversations, come and mingle with emerging and established design professionals and organisations.
  • If you’re thinking about up-skilling in Human-Centred Design, Business and Marketing or Emerging Tech, this is a fantastic way to get to know our instructors and talk to our Course Advisors around a drink.

Guest Speakers

Grace Turtle Polifroni

Experimental Futures Lead at Deloitte Digital

Grace is a post-disciplinary designer and researcher with over 10 years of experience across design. Her role as an agitator within Deloitte Digital has been to extend transdisciplinary design and futuring methods. In developing strategies for experiences, services and urban systems, Grace works with economists, anthropologists, government advisory and with communities.

Grace champions speculative fiction, experimentation and play as tools to facilitate collective problem solving, and visioning for transformation or transition.
