It’s believed that more than 90% of all data in the world today has been created in the last couple of years alone. Imagine what the next two years will look like? Organisations all over the globe are getting ready to harness the power of data through analytics and data science to better understand their customers, create new products, make medical discoveries and improve everyday life.

In this 3 hour, gentle-introduction boot camp, you’ll learn what analytics and data science is, basic terminologies, how organisations are approaching the problem of big data and analytics, what tools are used to deal with vast amounts of information, learn interesting, real-world applications of data being used to visualise and solve problems and, finally, work through a hands-on exercise for manipulating, analysing and presenting data.

Felipe Rego

Advanced Analytics Consultant

Felipe is an advanced analytics and data science professional with over 12 years of experience in the field. Over the years, Felipe’s work has helped organisations translate both structured and unstructured data into relevant insights and commercial opportunities.

Felipe is currently an independent analytics consultant providing specialist analytics advice to technology, marketing and finance leaders in projects ranging from data exploration, data visualisation and complex predictive models.

Prior to being an independent consultant, Felipe worked with nbnco, Newscorp, and in several other industries including Technology, Retail Marketing Services and Online Betting as an advanced analytics and data science professional.

In his spare time, Felipe is an analytics instructor, a blogger on data science and statistical computing techniques and an M.Phil. research candidate in Learning Analytics at the University of Sydney’s School of Electrical and Information Engineering.
