The emergence of disruptive technologies means we can now access more information at our fingertips than all of the data that has existed for all of humankind.

Driving the evolution of banking, supply chains, and now the Web 3.0, the Blockchain is a tamper-proof ledger that has been in headlines and scrutinised over recent years.

Some creative entrepreneurs and startups have used the Blockchain to drive sustainable solutions for the greater good.

At How Technology is Driving Social Impact, Adam Bumpus, the CEO of RedGrid, and Simon Wilson, CTO of RedGrid will explore:

  • How technology such as the Blockchain is being used to create positive social impact
  • What are some existing use cases of sustainable solutions that are already within the market
  • What limitations technologies such as the Blockchain and what opportunities can we look forward to


Dr. Adam G Bumpus

CEO at RedGrid

Adam is a serial entrepreneur, researcher, and public intellectual on clean energy and climate change. Adam is the CEO of the Tility Labs company RedGrid; a service company using machine learning and distributed Artificial Intelligence on the Blockchain to build the ‘clean transactive economy’. Over the last 15 years, Adam has mentored startups, advised corporate leaders in innovation, consulted for the UN and World Bank on climate finance and technologies, and has been involved in three tech and climate startup enterprises.

Simon Wilson

CTO RedGrid

Simon has over 10 years experience in leading Australian and international banks. His role has spanned many areas of Technology including a role at NAB as a group lead for Blockchain Technology and strategy.

A passionate and active leader in the Blockchain community, Simon has hosted several Blockchain Melbourne meetups, and has been a speaker at Blockchain Summit 2017/2018, Blockchain APAC Summit 2018 and appeared on various Blockchain panels. He has also previously been invited to host workshops on Blockchain Technology in Dubai, Malaysia, and India.
