Event Details

Local, state and federal bureaucracies employ over 16% of the Australian workforce who are responsible for transport, infrastructure health, and human services. With a budget of more than $450 billion to administer, the government requires a vast and incredibly complex network of services to help coordinate its efforts.

Human Centred Design is particularly well suited to solve what has become known as wicked problems, and government agencies are increasingly looking to Service and UX Designers to help streamline its efforts.

As a process, Design has the potential to create a breadth of new opportunities for the government, and skilled Designers are now applying Human-Centred Design tools that address problems that previously remained in the domain of policy experts or traditional management consultants.

In our upcoming event, be part of a fascinating discussion where we discuss:

  • How the government should work with external designers and stakeholders.
  • The difference between working as a design consultant vs an in-house designer for government agencies.
  • What government agencies are leading the deployment of Service Design.
  • How to solve wicked problems.
