Event details

Machine learning is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that automates solutions with minimal human intervention. It does this by uncovering patterns in data, drawing insights, and making decisions.

Personal virtual assistants like Alexa use machine learning to solve problems that were previously manual or thought to be impossible.

To automate efficient solutions, machine learning uses complex algorithms, which have often been reserved for technical specialists. But today with the expansion of Design Thinking, creating a machine learning algorithm extends beyond maths and computer science.

At our Designing Algorithms: An Introduction to Machine Learning from a Design Mindset event, machine learning expert Martin Kemka, will discuss:

  • How Design Thinking principles apply to machine learning
  • Design methods for implementing ¬†algorithms in new environments
  • How to use Design Thinking to solve data problems
Presenters

Marty Kemka

Founder of Northraine

Marty Kemka is the Founder of Northraine, a B Corporation machine learning production house, with the goal to teach 10,000 people about machine learning. As a Data Scientist and Founder, Marty has been building predictive modules for more than 10 years across companies such as ANZ, Equifax, GE, and the World Bank. His mission through Northraine is to ‘recondition the human condition’ and re-design how we live through the use of data.
