Event details

Machine learning is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that automates solutions with minimal human intervention. It does this by uncovering patterns in data, drawing insights, and making decisions.

To automate efficient solutions, machine learning uses complex algorithms, which have often been reserved for technical specialists. But today with the expansion of Design Thinking, creating a machine learning prototype can be done without needing coding expertise.

At our workshop Build a Machine Learning Model in 3 Hours From Scratch we’ll cover:

  • Understand what machine learning is and how it can help your work and business
  • Use Design Thinking to frame the problem and a potential machine learning solution
  • Create a working prototype of a machine learning model using real data
  • Get hands-on with practical tools to keep exploring machine learning

This workshop has no prerequisites and will use real data to develop a predictive algorithm and take the necessary steps to understand the problem space.

Presenters

Marty Kemka

Founder of Northraine

Marty Kemka is the Founder of Northraine, a B Corporation machine learning production house, with the goal to teach 10,000 people about machine learning. As a Data Scientist and Founder, Marty has been building predictive modules for more than 10 years across companies such as ANZ, Equifax, GE, and the World Bank. His mission through Northraine is to ‘recondition the human condition’ and re-design how we live through the use of data.
