Event Details

The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a collaborative tool used to help create, analyse, and iterate a company’s business model. First introduced as a lean startup template by entrepreneur Alex Osterwalder, the BMC allows you to quickly pull parts of a business together onto a single page.

A BMC helps to validate or invalidate an idea by efficiently defining a business or product’s value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.

At our workshop, Breaking Down the Business Model Canvas, you’ll delve deeper into a BMC, and by the end of the workshop you’ll have an understanding of:

  • What a BMC is and all its components
  • How a BMC differs from a Lean Canvas
  • How a BMC can help brands find product-market fit

Allen Jiang

Product Manager at Qantas

Originally from San Francisco, California, Allen was headhunted by Qantas for his startup work in digital healthcare. Allen is currently a product manager at Qantas where he focuses on evaluating new opportunities and improving the customer experience with his team of designers and engineers.

Allen has taught product, design, startups, and business classes here in Sydney as well as back in the Silicon Valley. His courses have helped people explore career paths and land jobs in new fields. Allen studied psychology as an undergraduate and began his early career in investment banking. From there he ventured into the world of product management and entrepreneurship, all of which continue to take him across the world.
