According to the World Health Organisation, the average global life expectancy was 72 years in 2016. One of the reasons we have been able to live longer, healthier lives is due to improving medicines and disruptive technologies within the health industry.
As with any industry, the health industry is going through rapid change. With technological breakthroughs such as the Blockchain, big data, and machine learning, traditional concepts around healthcare are being challenged.
While governments around the world struggle to keep up with the implications of technology on health, industry experts such as finance and digital transformation thought-leader Genevieve Leveille is helping governments understand how we can better use technologies such as the Blockchain in modern medicine.
Genevieve Leveille is the Co-Chair of The Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) Working Group in the UK. The DLT working group provides strategic direction for all techUK activities related to the Blockchain and DLT. It considers what action can be taken in order to industrialise, support Blockchain technology readiness, and help organisations with adoption and use cases of the Blockchain in a wide range of sectors, including the health system.
Our event, Blockchain and the Future of BioTech: A Conversation with Genevieve Leveille, will explore:
Genevieve will be interviewed by Gendry Morales, one of Melbourne’s most prominent Blockchain experts. Gendry is the Co-Founder of The Flight Plan, a digital platform for DApp prototyping.
